Online Hindustani Classical Music Class

Hindustani Classical is centuries old rich tradition of music that is recognised and respected worldwide. Passed on in Guru-Shishya (master-pupil) teaching format for years, the pedagogy has seen change in recent times where ICT based training is gaining acceptance. A combination of art and science, Hindustani classical music is an ancient yet evolved musical system useful in development and training of human minds of all age, particularly beneficial for young children (10 years and above). This course is meant to be an inner journey and soul searching with lots of interesting and fun filled meaningful activities all along the way. Course entails formal training of vocal music focused in Dhrupad style, ancient most form of Hindustani Classical, which includes developing cognition of melody (Raag) and rhythm (Taal) though it’s building blocks (swar and laya), also lays emphasis on age old breathing (pranayama) and posture (yogic) techniques for calmness and longevity. This course is meant for all skill levels. Beginners are people with no or very limited (less than a year) prior training. Intermediate are people with at least 1-2 years of prior training
